we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

Today I cried with Glenn Beck.
I have listened to his radio show for over three years and have witnessed the evolution of a sometimes crass, over the top entertainer evolve into one of the most important voices in the world today.
Now  he talks about God, the Atonement, and our country's desperate need to return to Him. His ratings have sky-rocketed as he teaches truth from our founding fathers, and from the scriptures. People are hungry for his messages of truth.

He isn't known for being a religious leader of any kind, but today, at his 8/28 Restoring Honor gathering, he brought together hundreds of thousands of people, of all faiths and beliefs, to commit to restoring honor to our country. It truly wasn't about politics. Obama's name was never mentioned. God's was. And Jesus Christ's. Over and over, by all of the speakers and singers. It was amazing. In a time where we have all been told to keep God out of everything, hundreds of thousands of people were listening to and rejoicing in the idea of bringing God back into the forefront of the American way of life.

How many times have we heard the same story, different characters, but same plot line? Blessed people forget God. The ending is never good. A cleansing always occurs to humble His people and turn their hearts back to Him. I believe we are those people and have been slow to remember Him.

Our precious freedoms are being stripped away faster than we would have ever imagined in our wildest dreams. It is time to restore honor to our country, and it begins with each of us personally. If you aren't paying attention to what going on, it is time. If you are skeptical of Glenn Beck or Fox News, watch them along with CNN or whatever news source you prefer. But then, do your own homework. Find out what the truth is for yourself.
I believe that God will hold us personally accountable for letting  freedom slip away, for not standing for this great country's founding fathers and founding documents. For letting someone else tell us what we should believe. And for being lulled into believing "All is well in Zion".

I love this great country, and our founding fathers. I intend to do everything I can to help restore it to a place where freedom flourishes and all religions are welcomed, and most importantly, where God is honored above all else.

What's a mother to do ?

After I sent the little darlin's off to school, I:

1) Crawled into bed and tried to go back to sleep (I couldn't)
2) Mowed the entire yard, front and back...
3) Called my Dad to see what the Washingtonians were doing on the 24th day of August...turns out jet skis are cursed on Anderson Island....
4) Hammered out parts for the impending Primary Program (three weeks away )....

Then it was time for me to throw down some lunch and welcome the children home...

School's back in session.

Priorites.

So many things that I could be blogging about, like-

Girls camp being over and done with...and actually fun.

Or my husband buying his first suit as a married man...

Or a fabulous trip to Washington which included a multi-cousin trip to the Seattle temple to do baptisms which was so wonderful...

Or my 8 year-old who knows almost every word to Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and wanders the house singing "Mama, just killed a man"  (if that doesn't fill a mother's heart with joy...)

Or my week of  just two children (remember the good old days?)  while my husband and son are on a 50 miler and my older daughters are at EFY...

Or, that with the passing of this financial reform bill our government now has control of 70 % of our economy. DOES THAT NOT BOTHER ANYONE??? I do not recognize our country anymore.

All of those things are blogworthy but here is what I want to say...

Today is day 36 of no sugar in my life.
I miss it.
I feel better than I have in a looooong time.
But I miss it.
Today I miss it alot.

Just so you know.

Hawaii and California meet up with Utah...

It's tough when all three of the Labit kids are raising their families in different states, one across the ocean. So, it was amazing that we all got to meet up together a few weeks ago in Sacramento. It was so much fun for the kids to rekindle friendships. It was a quick trip with one day in San Francisco. We sure missed  Grandma Tomi and Grandpa Fred but were happy to have Auntie Judie come along.

The whole gang on Pier 39 in San Francisco- we did lots of walking and  Auntie Laura had the blisters to prove it!!!
Had to pick between a bad pic of Judie, or a bad one of Kaitlyn...Judie won and yet she lost...
Moe...she exudes personality doesn't she!!!!
Cecil the swimming machine !
Will, the huge Percy Jackson fan, had to drive across the Golden Gate Bridge before we left.
Cecil
Sully...
Beth and Alyssa...and you know who in the middle...
In jaws of death...(Will)
Will and Zachary look for a better view of Alcatraz.
