C is for Comedy...
In the Labit family, we get a little obsessed with things
(think Les Mis...).
Our latest obsession: BYUtv's Studio C.
It's our Monday night post FHE activity.
We have watched every episode at least 3 times.
Here's just one of our favorite clips:

A Little January Happiness...
January 24th.
The day in which Hannah had her braces removed.
We officially have zero children in braces.
The first time in 6 years.
I love you for a moment, January.

Honestly.
I have tried hard not to hate January this go-around.
Really I have.
As a matter of fact,
just a few days ago I realized that January was half-over.
"Well done," I said to myself. "You've hardly even noticed."
But that was a mistake. I shouldn't have noticed at all.
Now it's all I think about.
This frigid, inversion filled January.
February, where art thou?
A nod to the inauguration created by Bethany two Januarys ago.

Day of Reckoning.
Today is the day in which I remove all of the friends and family from my sidebar who used to blog and now no longer do.
I think I have been more than patient.
I'll miss seeing your name and the monthly count of how long it's been since you've updated...
...but alas, it's time.
Farewell., until you blog again.
(Okay, I had to hang on to Michaela. She's my daughter for goodness sake.)

To Play, or Not to Play.
Last week Elijah announced unequivocally
that he would NOT be playing church ball this year.
And yet today he played his first game.
We're not falling for that again.

Hello, Goodbye.
After just 4 months of working with this exuberant
group of Beehives, I have been moved on...
I now have my first Stake calling.
Still in Young Women's
but I will now be "shepherding" leaders instead of girls.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around it all.
I mean really, doesn't this look way more exciting?
What's not to love?
And will Young Women leaders play
"Guess My Animal Sound?"
I highly doubt it.
I am guessing we will exhibit a little more
maturity in our meetings.
Ah well, it was fun while it lasted.
Onward.

Celebration.
Sunday, we celebrated Cassidy's 15th birthday.
There was some intensive "Happy Birthday" singing going on...
... if only you could hear how melodic it sounded.
Cassidy was obviously overwhelmed with the beauty of it all...
But that's what we do best:
create unforgettable memories.
Happy Birthday Cassidy.

Tonight after FHE...
...Bethany taught us a new sport.
It's called "The Whipped Cream Game".
First, you squirt a dollop of whipped cream onto your wrist.
Next, you smack your wrist like so,
sending the dollop high into the air.
You then position yourself under that flying dollop and hope like heck you catch it in your eagerly awaiting mouth.
Which you usually don't...
...unless you are Elijah,
who went eight for eight.
Happy Monday!

New Year's Eve Catch Up.
December flew by so quickly, that I forgot to document some major events...like New Year's Eve for one.
We gathered at the Cook's house for a celebration like no other...
It started with homemade personal pizzas.
I know Elijah's represented something but I can't remember what...
We served it with chunky (icy) Egg Nog
which really was quite delicious.
(When you have too much Egg Nog left over from Christmas, naturally you freeze it and bring it out for New Year's)
Just Dance was a major part of the evening,
until Elijah and Zach left for a "real" dance.
Grandma Tomi supplied the whole crew
with a plethora of noise makers. Yay :)
She and Elijah had a "tooting" war.
I think Grandma won hands down.
Zach figured out how to make four of these go off at once.
The hat-man engaged any who would play in air hockey.
Hannah had so much fun with sparklers...
...that she burned her cheek good.
And of course you can't have Hawaiian transplants at your party and not have fireworks.
They are huge in Hawaii's New Year's festivities.
And so, 2012 was sent off proper.
May 2013 be the best year yet.
