"I do think that a majority of people in my district have a lot of problems with this bill," he told the Deseret News. And, he said, "I heard from thousands and thousands of constituents on this."
But he said that is not why he decided to oppose the bill. He said it simply did not measure up to what he believes is needed — and that saddens him.

This is what happens to every elected official. They decide they know better than the people what is best for them.
It sickens me.
The basic premise of our our Constitution is that only God gives us rights.
Yesterday, our Congress decided to play God. They became the bestowers of the "right" to health care. The "right" to education is not far behind.
Today is not a good day in America.
