From goofball to graduate.

He's done it-
despite a lost library book and threats to withhold the diploma (because of the library book), Elijah has officially exited 6th grade.

Good job brother!!!

Whatever will I do on Tuesdays?

After giving this show 4 years of my life (I started late...)- I am no longer lost in Lost.

Also, coming to a Tuesday night close:

Biggest Loser

American Idol
(who should, by the way, follow the pattern of Lost and just put everyone out of their purgatory misery)

I have just one question: Why were the only shows that I watched, all on Tuesday? Strange.

It's snowing in Provo, Utah this morning.

Goodbye to the M...

Last weekend we, Sister Rayback, Sister Labit, and the 8th ward YCL's, came head to head with the "M" otherwise known as Sister Rayback's childhood home... (look carefully in the background...you'll find it.)

We had many "M"-azing adventures in Idaho Falls, or I.F. as the locals call it...or at least they called it I.F. when I went to the "M"-azing Ricks College about a hundred years ago.

We went to the Idaho Falls temple and did baptisms...

We played with Sis. Rayback's pet potbellies..
No, seriously.

Michaela played with the pigs, dogs, and horses. At the same time.
No, seriously.

We slept in a room filled with wild game hunted down by Daddy Isbell, including these lions.
No, seriously.

Britta, Karly, and Michaela just before they ate Moose burgers for dinner.
No, seriously.

It was an amazingly beautiful weekend.
I'm trying to talk the hubby into buying some potbellies of our own...
Not seriously.

A Good Night For Me:

Sooo tired of politics as usual, I gave American Idol some of my "escape" time tonight.
Two nice surprises...

I fell in love with Lee DeWyze...he'll win it for sure. He almost made me wish I had watched it more than hit or miss this season...(P.S. The Harry Connick week...one of the best ever on AI-He was so hilarious, that for the first time ever, the producers did an "out-take segment". I laughed HARD!)
But back to Lee- he gave me chills...cutie pie too
.

Bigger surprise though? (Hold your gag reflex please, hear me out...) Justin Bieber performed and he was really good. He sounded great live- I mean he even sounded like the boy that he is. I was truly shocked to have that reaction. However, it really is best to just close your eyes and listen. I'm sorry, the hair freaks me out.

Okay, that's my night... all is right with the world, if only in my dreams.

Goodbye Mr. Bennett

It's not that I don't have some sympathy for Bob Bennett and his resounding defeat on Saturday at the Republican convention, but his statement to the press after his loss sums up exactly why he lost:

(Speaking of his voting record)

"Looking back on them -- with one or two very minor exceptions -- I wouldn't have cast any of them any differently even if I'd known at the time it would cost me my career because I have always done the best I can to cast the vote that I think is best for the state and best for the country."

Another politician who has substituted his judgment for that of his constituents. Once again, we are a representative republic. You are voted in to represent the wishes of your constituents. When you stop doing that, you are voted out.

That is what happened to Mr. Bennett.

It might happen to Mr. Hatch.

For My Mom.

I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life.

Will's play.

End of the year production...I am not sure what the play was about
( when you are busy trying to film you lose most of the message), but they all had their lines perfectly memorized!
3 more weeks til "pau hana."

Would the next George Washington please step forward? And hurry.

I gave two hours of my day today to George Washington. I love this man.

Did you see that former President Bill Clinton was named a "hero" this week by Time magazine? The man that taught us that character didn't matter in a President?

Bill Clinton, George Bush, Barack Obama...all three could use a one on one with the man that taught us that character is in fact everything.

George Washington, where art thou????
