Our 4th of July celebrating really began a couple of days ago when and Alissa and I discovered this little puppy. It brought us such happiness. We starred everything we could think of.
First we made these...see the stars?
Then we did this...
We even made garland...
...and fancied up our Mississippi Mud.
When we were sure the stars were aligned just right,
the real celebrating began.
We started with a pancake breakfast.
We then headed out to hike Bridal Veil falls.
Some of us opted for the nice, safe trail...
While others headed right up the face of the falls.
But we all made it.
Molly, Will and Cecil could have played for hours in the falls.
Yeah, hours.
After the hike, Alissa looked a little overheated... |
...but Cees knew how to cool off.
He paid very little attention to the "No Wading" signs :)
After a little R&R, we sat down for a BBQ, talked about the greatness of our country and prayed for its well being in this tumultuous time.
And since fireworks are prohibited in our neck of the woods, we are heading over to the Paynters (who are AWOL in Washington State) to do a little light show before calling it a day.
And it's been a great one.
God Bless America.
Truly.
