to be better? One of those "betters" was to have better Family Home Evening's, which were becoming a little too casual. So this year, we created a little more structure...
(and when I say we, you know who I mean ).
On the first Monday, we have a lesson from Preach My Gospel. On the second Monday, it comes from the For Strength of Youth pamphlet. The next Monday is dedicated to one of Christ's attributes found in 2 Peter 1:4-7. The fourth Monday is all about our country and primarily it's founding. If there is a 5th Monday, we plan a field trip. It isn't always in that order but we have been pretty good about it. My commitment to better family home evenings was reinforced by a recent article in the Ensign by Sister Beck where she said something like "Be BRILLIANT in the basics." Well, we have a long way to go before we start to exude brilliance but we are certainly going for consistency.
ANYHOW- all that to say we "brilliantly" threw structure out the window tonight .We had field tripped it to the Karl Bloch exhibit earlier this month so it was Beth's turn for the lesson ... however, Dad called and had to work late, then Hannah had a family invite her to the Jazz game, and Bethany remembered she needed doughnuts for class tomorrow...
hmmm, what to do, what to do?
Yeah, another field trip,
but we did choose the better doughnut place...
