The Weekend Round-Up.

Our weekend included this:

Two flats of strawberries...

...becoming 14 containers of freezer jam...
and once again waking up to this.

By afternoon it was back to this...the real story here, however, is how we have gone ghetto (says Beth)... Michael had someone come and fix the soda machine that was given to us a couple of years ago. Now it has soda, and wheels so it can be wheeled out during the spring blizzards for neighborhood chilluns to quench their thirst...(please don't judge me by my husband's actions). That my friends is the weekend round-up, highly eventful. I spare you the trivial details of driving Beth to job orientations and Elijah to a soccer game that didn't exist. Oh yeah, and pulling up carpet in a flooded basement...the weekend is for relaxing, right?  Life is good. Shabbat Shalom.

Most Ludicrous Headline of the week.

The headline reads: Tomorrow is the royal wedding. You may not be invited but here are several ways to celebrate anyways!

Then, they post the most ridiculous list I have ever seen. Some of which include:

*Buy souvenir magazine guides on the Royal Wedding.

*Dress up for the occasion.

*Know the events of the day so that you can be aware of what is happening and what you might be able to view on TV.

*Hold a high tea.

*If you don't want to make your own high tea, book into a tea room, restaurant or hotel buffet for a lavish spread.

*Buy some souvenirs to remember the occasion by

*Wish the royal couple well. Send them your regards silently, or through Facebook updates.

Seriously?
Has anyone noticed the world is on fire?

If you have nothing better to think about than what you are going to wear when you pretend  to go to the Royal Wedding...it makes my head explode.

Spring Break Revisited.

One of the coolest things we did in St. George was explore these "lava tubes" at one of the national parks (Snow Canyon?). You literally descended beneath the ground into a cave and popped up a few yards away. Too freaky for me but the kids loved it.

Kyle descending...
..and then emerging.
Emerging...

more emerging...

even more...

you guessed it, even more emerging...

Oh, what a jolly good time...and guess what? It snowed here in Provo yesterday...horizontally.
Man I love spring.

Easter Weekend.

My joy is full and my heart is happy. Easter weekend was wonderful. For me it started here:
The rest is just icing so to speak...

.We had some wonderful Easter festivities that's for sure...

The Easter Bunny left Michaela her own set of car keys...

Beth ate a little too much sugar....

Judie and Michael made the traditional breakfast of  Golden Rod Toast...

(There are a few of us who abstain from this scrumptiously mouth watering delight...)

I prefer my eggs in the bread, not on top of it!
Cameron received his usual dose of harassment from Will...

and we had some very creative egg coloring this year.

But here's the unbelievable Easter story of the day: Jordan actually warms his potato salad in the microwave before he eats it...Uhg!

And this kid's just darn cute! And I believe he has a birthday coming up...

After Easter dinner, Janis whipped out the checker board and threw down the gauntlet! She rarely gets beat...all in all it was a great day of fun and celebration.

But mostly today, and for the last couple of weeks, my thoughts have been here:

I have been reading and thinking about the last few weeks, days and hours of Jesus' life. Once again I feel so powerfully how much my spirit loves this man. I would be so lost with out this knowledge, my lifeline, as I struggle onward in my effort to endure to the end. Saying that I am grateful for His atonement seems so inadequate. But I am. More than anything.

Happy Easter.

Happy Birthday Michael.

Bethany's touching card...
Deliciously sugar-free, fat-free cake...(shhh, don't tell anyone)...

Greatest fun seemed to be lighting the candles...
...until "Dad's" present was unwrapped...JUST DANCE 2!  Nothing but fun I'm telling you. Happy Birthday!!!

Week in Review...okay, actually just a couple of documented days...

Conference morning looked like this...
Judie came and made us crepes...

Conference bingo isn't the hit it used to be...everyone just eats 'em.

Except for Elijah, who actually had 6 cards going by the end.
We are not so sure what is going on here...Bella looks troubled...so am I...

Will performs in a 3rd grade choir...the only time he sat still all evening.

Just cute, right?

Hannah's class did origami for the Spring Creek Art Salon...

I discovered a new delish recipe for chocolate chip cookies. Seriously, the first try did not fail...you can find it here...scroll down the page, it's about half way...worth it!  Them are the highlights, we are off to St. George for Spring Break. Wish us luck!!!

Dear Mischievous Rain aka Courtney:

You have pretty much ruined my life.

Remember when you posted this "jingle clip"
from Psych a few weeks ago?
It intrigued me.
I went to Netflix to see what I could find.
I watched Season One in less than a week.
I truly thought there was only one season. I was glad when it ended so I could get back to my family.
But then I discovered there are actually 4 seasons.
So now, I am trying to pace myself. I only watch it when I exercise, or fold laundry, or feel "tired"
and need a break.
It's maddening. But I love it.
It makes me laugh out loud every episode
I am giggling just thinking about it.
So, even though you have completely ruined
life as I knew it,
Thank You.

Just Because.

One of my favorite things in the world is seeing my kids choose to sit down and read for no particular reason. Not many of them do that anymore...except Michaela of course, who obviously reads continuously. But Bethany prefers her books on CD, Hannah the same. Elijah reads voraciously when he loves the book (that's not often enough), but Will just plain loves to read. His favorite new book series? Encyclopedia Brown...also my favorite when I was his age. I love it when life comes full circle.
