Freedom Week.

For the first time in the 12 years that my kids have attended our elementary school, this week we had Freedom Week. It was pretty cool. The theme was "I Can Be A Star For My Country," and each day had a different focus. It culminated in an assembly where we had a "real" color guard post the colors, two Iraq veterans come and speak, and my personal fave, each grade learned a patriotic song to sing. At the end, the school was presented with an American flag, and a Utah flag that had been flown over the state capitol building. There was such a great patriotic feeling, hopefully it was felt just a little bit by those hooligans.
It was a perfect way to celebrate Veteran's Day.
